GLAS World Mental Health Day Initiatives

GLAS World Mental Health Day Initiatives

This year’s World Mental Health Day theme was prioritising mental health in the workplace. In recent years, workplace stress has reached unprecedented levels due to the fast pace of modern work, the challenges of adapting to post-pandemic conditions, and increasing demands of balancing work and personal life. Employees are becoming greatly affected, making it more critical than ever to address mental health in the workplace.

This year’s theme highlights the importance of fostering supportive work environments to promote mental well-being. At GLAS, we are delighted to see colleagues across the whole company getting involved in various initiatives to support this cause. To recognise World Mental Health Day GLAS did several initiatives, some of these included:

Our team in New Jersey enjoying their mental health walk in the sunshine
The GLAS team in Frankfurt Enjoying their mental health walk and picnic

Our London office organised a bake sale, with employees bringing in an array of sweet treats to raise funds for the Mind organisation.

In the Madrid office, employees participated in a mindfulness session led by coach María de Mena. This session provided valuable tools to help employees manage stress and enhance mindfulness, equipping them with strategies to handle future stressful situations effectively.

The Frankfurt office hosted a picnic, giving employees the opportunity to take a proper break from their desks, enjoy a walk, get some fresh air, and appreciate the natural surroundings by the river. This activity allowed employees to socialise and have fun together, all of which are beneficial for mental health.

Over in New Jersey, our office enjoyed a mental health walk in the sunshine. They had a very lovely outing getting fresh air and time away from their desks to destress.

By breaking down stigma, offering support, and creating a positive environment, we can help everyone thrive both at work and in their personal lives. World Mental Health Day is a reminder to take action and encourages organisations to come together and focus on mental health.
