GLAS expands European operations to Spain with new Madrid office

As of today, GLAS (Global Loan Agency Services) has expanded its operations into Spain, with the opening of an office in the centre of Madrid.

In recent years, GLAS has expanded its international presence to include operations in France, Germany, the USA, and Australia.

GLAS already has an established network in Spain, with a wealth of experience in projects which include Spanish organisations and assets.

Most notably, GLAS recently acted as Restructuring Agent, Security Agent and Equity Agent for Celsa Group on the first restructuring plan to be launched under new Spanish insolvency legislation passed in 2021.

GLAS Co-Founder and Group President, Mia Drennan said:

“The launch of GLAS in Spain is another important milestone in the global expansion of the business.

Over the last few years, we have been involved in several high-profile projects in Spain, and felt it was the perfect time to lay down permanent foundations in Madrid.

We have a wealth of expertise across our EMEA team to support the establishment of GLAS in the Spanish market, and we will continue to build our team on the ground in Madrid throughout 2024.”

The team in Madrid will be headed up by Daniel García, a former Apex Group employee with 10 years of experience in loan services.

About GLAS

GLAS was established in 2011 as an independent provider of finance administration services. Global Loan Agency Services Limited is a privately owned business, founded by Mia Drennan and Brian Carne. The company was originally created to provide the market a willing participant in complex loan restructuring transactions where many large institutions are reluctant to take swift and cooperative action.

GLAS is recognised as the premier independent, non-creditor, conflict-free provider of loan agency and bond trustee services. Our growth is stable and sustainable with more than EUR 360bn of assets under administration on a daily basis.
