Veteran Restructuring Attorney Irena Goldstein Joins GLAS USA

JERSEY CITY, NJ – (May 04, 2022) — Reinforcing its position as the leading provider of institutional debt administration services in the U.S. market, GLAS is pleased to welcome Irena Goldstein to the firm as Senior Legal Counsel.

Goldstein brings more than three decades of experience advising clients on complex and high-profile restructurings in the United States. Goldstein has played significant roles on some of the largest bankruptcy cases in recent decades, including Cred Inc., Murray Energy, MF Global, Lehman Brothers, Enron, and Calpine. She has also advised on numerous out-of-court restructurings, representing debtors, creditors and purchasers, among other parties.

Most recently, Goldstein supported restructuring clients at Paul Hastings LLP in New York. Prior to Paul Hastings, she completed stints as a partner at law firms including Proskauer Rose LLP and Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP.

“I am thrilled to join GLAS and apply the skills I have honed in private practice to assist clients navigating restructurings and insolvency,” Goldstein said.

“As the market faces what is likely to be a wave of restructurings in the second half of 2022, the service GLAS provides can give creditors and debtors ease of access to information and ensure an efficient, smooth process.”

GLAS’s in-house legal team provides prescriptive, highly bespoke advice to clients including restructuring deal parties. The U.S. legal experts work in conjunction with the global team to provide the highest quality client service, essential flexibility and a high degree of responsiveness to deal parties.

Goldstein often serves as the anchor on restructuring deals during high-pressure situations, advising clients on their path forward under difficult circumstances. She also has deep expertise in corporate governance matters.

“Irena brings a wealth of experience in a critical area for our firm,” said Mia Drennan, Co-Chair and President at GLAS.

“She is extremely well-respected in the restructuring community and will bring skills that are invaluable to our many restructuring clients. Her expertise will provide new depth to our team as we continue to build out our fast-growing American operations.”
