GLAS expands APAC footprint with new office in Melbourne

We are excited to announce the expansion of our footprint in Australia with the opening of a new office at 80 Collins Street in Melbourne CBD.

GLAS expanded its operations into Australia in 2016  and the business has been appointed on several recent high-profile transactions in the APAC region for Invocare, Virgin Australia, Ticketek and iNova Pharmaceuticals.

GLAS Co-Founder and Group President Mia Drennan said: “I am delighted to announce the opening of the GLAS Melbourne office and the growth of GLAS in Australia.

APAC is a key market for GLAS and our growing presence in Australia gives us the opportunity to provide round the clock support on a global scale to our clients regardless of which financial centre a transaction is taking place.

Our team in Australia have had an exciting few years working on many of the most significant transactions in the Australian market, and we felt it was the right time to expand our footprint in the country.”

GLAS Australia Managing Director said: “GLAS Australia has gone through a really strong growth period over the past eighteen months.

The opening of our office in Victoria – our third in Australia – and the expansion of our team on the ground in Melbourne will help us meet the demand for our services and expertise.

It has been fantastic to see the team grow from a small office of two in 2016, to almost thirty staff in the region.”

Spotlight on the growing GLAS APAC team

The GLAS APAC team is headed up by GLAS Australia Managing Director, Kate White, who has overseen a period of significant business growth over the last 18 months.

With part of this growth, we are excited to introduce several new hires in GLAS Australia team to our clients and partners.

GLAS has grown the APAC Transaction Management team with 3 new hires in Melbourne – Malcome White (ex-Credit Suisse), Tony Di Paolo (ex-CBA) and Aaron Lind (ex-CBA) to support the growing number of deals GLAS is involved in.

GLAS has also recruited Jason Mistry (ex-BNY Mellon, Citi, and HSBC) to head up the GLAS Debt Capital Markets team throughout APAC.

We warmly welcome the new members to the GLAS team and are confident they will be instrumental in helping to achieve GLAS’ ambitious objectives in the region.
