GLAS commences third year of graduate program

GLAS Graduate Program enters third year

This year marks the third year anniversary of GLAS’ Graduate Program. The program started started in the UK in 2021 and has since been rolled out across all our global offices.

Since 2021, GLAS has hired over 30 graduates around the world, all of which were retained and promoted throughout roles covering every function of the firm.

The program’s success has given our graduates invaluable, first hand experience of business and the broader financial services sector, as well as providing the opportunity to learn and develop a broad range of skills, and offer a rewarding career path with the opportunity to work amongst a truly global team.

At GLAS, we are proud of our strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities – and as a business, we are dedicated to hiring diverse graduates from all walks of life to play a role in the growth of our business, and the benefits of these commitments are felt throughout the organisation. Our teams utilise the innovative and creative ideas introduced by our graduates to help continue to make positive changes to GLAS, with those from a STEM background for example forming part of digital development teams helping to build the technology that underpins our organisation.

In recognition of the program and ongoing success of the graduates working at GLAS, our Founder, Mia Drennan, said:

“As we kick off another graduate program in the US later this month, we wanted to celebrate the ongoing success of all the graduates at GLAS and to thank them for all their ongoing hard work and resilience! We are appreciative of the graduates choosing GLAS as their employer of choice given there are so many options, and it is our duty to make sure they have a great experience and a promising career ahead of them.”

We also spoke to a few of the team that began their journey with GLAS as graduates, and got their feedback on the program and the business.

I joined the GLAS Parisian office in January 2022 as a Junior Business Development Associate. It has been an exciting journey since day 1. During my time here, we’ve moved to a bigger office, acquired one of the leading fiducies in the French market and continue to grow rapidly. It is a great place for people like me, who think outside of the box, and are ready for challenges.” –  Junior Business Development Associate, France

I joined GLAS after completing my MSc in Accounting and Finance in 2021. Since then, I have been able to progress in my career through the support and guidance provided by senior team members and leaders who have nurtured and supported me along my journey. I started in TSG and soon joined the DCM team where I gained a wealth of knowledge and understanding in Restructuring and Complex Transactions.

I have since moved into the Business Development team with a focus on DCM products to further develop my skills and understand GLAS from all aspects. During my time here, there has been an enormous amount of opportunity to grow and develop my career through mentorship schemes and exposure to complex transactions. The flat structure at GLAS is a great benefit for those in the early stages of their career as everyone is keen to lend guidance where needed and to enable you to fulfil your full potential.” – Junior Business Development Associate, UK

“The GLAS Analyst Rotational Program is one of a kind! It is rare to have the chance to start your career learning about the different drivers of the business. You’ll see how all the pieces come together flawlessly, like a fine Swiss watch.

I began my career in the Client Services team. I assisted the team with transfers from the BSL deals that GLAS services. Whilst there, I had the opportunity to help the team during quarter-end. I saw firsthand the attention to detail that GLAS gives its clients, even in busy times. Those are the moments when our commitment to “white glove servicing” stands out the most.

I have since moved to the Business Development team. I help the GLAS U.S. offices expand across the Americas. Sitting on the Business Development team is a wonderful experience as you’re always learning new things and, most importantly, learning by teaching. My previous rotation left me better equipped to answer questions and solve client problems. Because of it, I have a deeper knowledge of the business and our products.

Exposure like that is rare. I am grateful that GLAS decided to rerun the Analyst Rotational Program for the next generation!” – Business Development Associate, US

I was drawn to GLAS by its innovation, internal career progression and international exposure. Having spent the year here, the graduate program has already provided me with an array of new skills and industry knowledge as well as exposure to all teams and areas of service – one of the benefits of doing a program outside of the more established banks.” – Junior Analyst, APAC
